Hi, I’m Steve, Founder & Chief Instructor at Summit RPAS.

When I started my journey into commercial drone operations, I ran straight into a frustrating reality: to earn advanced qualifications, I had to pack my bags, book hotel rooms, and travel all the way to Edmonton. Looking around Northern BC, I realized local pilots and corporate teams were constantly forced to spend extra time and money traveling out of region just to complete basic flight testing and advanced training.

Sitting right here at my desk in Prince George, I decided to build the local solution I wished had existed for me.

My strength comes from combining Transport Canada’s Level 1 Complex Operations (L1CO) standards with a strong foundation in adult learning. Holding a Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed.), my core expertise lies in instructional design and teaching. Having spent years as a higher education instructor and tutor, I specialize in translating dense aviation regulations into clear, practical learning modules.

I know firsthand how intimidating practical flight exams can be. Nobody wants to sit across from a rigid, condescending tester when their rating is on the line. I built my training, flight reviews, and consulting around a simple promise: high standards, zero ego.

My goal is to give local pilots and commercial fleets a supportive, fair, and professional testing environment right here in our community so you can focus on building your skills and flying safely.
